The meat industry is one of the most important and lucrative worldwide, but it's also one of the most controversial due to the environmental, ethical, and health impacts associated with its production and consumption.

In this sense, the relationship between humanity and the meat industry's complex and multidimensional. On one hand, meat consumption's a fundamental part of many people's diets worldwide and represents an important source of nutrients and proteins. On the other hand, large-scale meat production involves a series of environmental problems, like deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, and water and air pollution. Additionally, there're ethical issues related to animal treatment and the social and economic impacts on local communities.

It's clear that there're many pros and cons to this relationship; some of the pros may include meeting people's food needs, creating jobs, and contributing to the global economy. On the other hand, the cons may include deforestation, climate change, animal cruelty, and negative impacts on human health.

From an environmental standpoint, meat production is a major cause of deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, and water and air pollution. This's largely due to the fact that large-scale meat production requires large amounts of land, water, and feed for livestock, which in turn generates a large amount of waste and greenhouse gas emissions.

Additionally, the meat industry also raises ethical issues related to animal treatment. Many people are concerned about the conditions in which animals are raised and slaughtered and argue that this can be cruel and inhumane. Additionally, there're concerns about the social and economic impacts on local communities, especially in developing countries where large-scale meat production can have negative effects on food security and the sustainability of traditional farming practices.

On the other hand, there're also arguments in favor of the meat industry. Meat is an important source of nutrients and protein in the human diet, and large-scale meat production can generate employment and contribute to the global economy. Additionally, some people argue that meat is a culturally important food in many parts of the world and that banning or limiting its consumption can be seen as an interference in local traditions and customs.

It's necessary to reflect on the complexity of the relationship between humanity and the meat industry and consider both the positive and negative aspects. Only in this way will we be able to make informed and responsible decisions about our food and our impact on the environment and society. This relationship is complex and multifaceted, with significant environmental, ethical, and social impacts. It's also essential to promote more sustainable agricultural practices and seek healthier and more environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional meat production.

However, these are our visions or the way we perceive this phenomenon, but what if the animals destined for human consumption could tell their side of the story? What can they think and feel about the life we give them in factory farms? Would we be the villains? Well, these and many more questions can be answered in my book "Our food also feels," where through the eyes of a chicken, a cow, a sow, a lamb, a rabbit, and a salmon, you can get a realistic, honest, and uncensored look at this reality.

If you're interested in reading the book, you can find it on Amazon in Spanish and English.
